Unfinished City

First forty pages of a proposed 120-something graphic novel called Unfinished City, written by Benjamin Dickson and Jelena Martinović, drawn by me.

Nadja Djurkovic is a British Citizen from Nikšić in Montenegro, travelling home for the first time since the end of the Yugoslav wars. Called by a letter from her sister, Nadja arrives only to find that her sister was murdered just two weeks before. Stricken by grief and regret, Nadja investigates the murder herself, only to find all is not as it seems. Nikšić has changed; the vacuum left by the fall of communism a decade before has been filled with organised crime, smuggling and corruption. Everybody knows the murder was pinned on the wrong man – and the true murderer may well be the most powerful man in the city...
